Nebraska Names High School State Champions

Ponca City, Okla. (Sept 3, 2011) – The Bass Federation (TBF), in partnership with FLW Outdoors, hosted the inaugural Student Angler Federation Nebraska High School Fishing State Championship, September 3 on Maranatha Lake in Lincoln County, Neb. The state championship was a two person team event for students in grades 9-12.

The high school team of Adam Diehl and Drew Bailey of Lincoln County High School Bass Club were named champions after bringing in a 5 bass limit that weighed 11 lbs even. The team also brought in the tournament big bass that weighed 3.84 lbs. Second place went to Jarett Siefford and Tel Pyzer with a 3 bass limit that weighed 8 lbs 9 oz, and just short of the big bass honors with a 3.8 lb bass. 3rd place team was Trevor Lee and Jacob Zimbelman. 2011 Nebraska State Youth Tournament Results

Nebraska’s state youth tournament was held Saturday, June 26 on Lonestar lake. The kids caught quite a few fish and were showing improvement in their fishing skills, and caught quite a few fish . The winner of the 15-18 age group was Ian Malstrom and the winner of the 11-14 age group was Taylor Stanley. Both are from Lincoln. The tournament director: Kevin Keller
